What are the Class Rules?
 

People of all ages can greatly benefit from practicing yoga. Yoga helps develop strong core muscles regardless of a person's fitness level. It also has the tremendous benefit of calming the mind. By learning breathing and relaxation techniques, kids and adults can learn to control their stress levels and find a sense of calm in their busy, frenetic worlds. But most importantly, yoga can be fun and challenging!

Can anyone do yoga?
Anyone, regardless of athletic ability or size, can benefit from yoga. The poses can easily be modified to each individual's capabilities and strengths. Yoga can help anyone focus and relax. For adults, we offer a wide range of classes than can suit anyone. For those with limited physical capabilities, we now offer a 'Chair Yoga' class, or a 'Gentle Yoga and Meditation' option. For brand new yogis, we offer 'Yoga 101', and for those wishing to expand their practice, we have 'Zen Hatha', 'Vinyasa Flow'. We also offer various ‘Kids Yoga’ series. How can fit and active and adults benefit from yoga?
In the last several years, there has been a tremendous movement among athletes to improve core strength. Doing this allows an athlete to excel in his or her areas of interest by preventing injuries and utilizing their inner focus and energy. Yoga can help take an athletic individual to the next level. The Zen Zone currently works with the Missouri Mavericks to help them reduce injury and gain flexibility.

 

Who teaches the classes for The Zen Zone?
Certified yoga and Pilates professionals teach our classes. Each instructor has something unique to offer, so try as many classes and teachers as you can!

How do we get started?
Click on the "schedules" link to choose a class and view class descriptions. You can reserve your space and pay online through our secure system. You can also call or e-mail to book your spot for The Zen Zone class of your choice today! No time? Just come on in. Reservations are not needed. Please arrive a few minutes early. The website schedule is live-updated, so check for class changes, cancellations for special events or cancellations due to weather. Call with questions!

Can yoga interfere with our religious beliefs?
Absolutely not. While some Eastern religions incorporate yoga into their practices, yoga itself is not a religion. Mindfully practicing yoga can enhance your quality of life and your state of mind regardless of what your belief system involves. People all over the world, of all religious backgrounds have discovered that yoga can help them strengthen, focus and find peace and happiness. The Zen Zone does not promote or endorse any particular religion or belief system. Each yogi is encouraged to follow his or her own path.

Do you offer yoga off-site? We'd like a Corporate Program!
The Zen Zone can bring yoga to your place of business with our new corporate program, Zen Business. What are the class rules?
• Come to class with a smile!
•Wear comfortable clothing and bring your own mat. We do have mats for new customers to borrow, but if you are planning on practicing yoga, having your own 'space' shows a commitment to yourself and your practice.
• Please make sure you are signed in for class prior to entering the studio.
• Turn off your cell phone before entering the studio. One cell phone ring can disrupt everyone's shavasana!
• Remove shoes in the lobby and put belongings into cubbies.
• Try to avoid wearing strong fragrances. Some of your classmates may be sensitive.
• Please enter the yoga studio quietly and with respect for those who have arrived before you. Many people like to relax, center and focus prior to class. Please use our comfortable lobby for visiting before and after class.
• Come with an open mind. Be ready to try new things and challenge yourself! Try new classes, different instructors and come to special events. Experience all that The Zen Zone has to offer!
•Always inform your instructor if you have any injuries, illnesses or other concerns. ALWAYS listen to your own body and let us help you practice safely and responsibly.
